Children
& Youth Ministry
We believe that spiritual growth is an important part of overall growth of our children and youth. They learn about the love of God and the teachings of Jesus from the Old and New Testaments, and they participate in mission and fun activities through:
Sunday School: The schedule is as follows:
- 10:00-10:15 All children and youth begin the morning attending the worship service in the
sanctuary. Following the children's sermon the young people
leave the worship service to attend Sunday school.
- 10:15-11:00 Pre-school, middle school and high school students attend Sunday school classes.
- 10:15 Kindergarten through fifth grade students attend "gathering time" in fellowship hall, followed by Sunday school classes at 10:45-11:30.
- On communion Sundays (generally, the first Sunday of the month), ALL children and youth go directly to Sunday
school following the children's moment and return to the sanctuary to participate in communion at the end of the service

Mission
The United Church of Christ supports many worldwide, national
and local missions, including
hunger relief, medical missions, and is an advocate for human and environmental
justice. Please go to www.ucc.org for
further information. Members of our church (the Cedar Hills United Church
of Christ) are active over a wide range of service work. including working
with the county and local agencies to provide meals for homeless, and
other material and spiritual support for those struggling to shelter,
feed and clothe themselves and their families. Please view our a recent
review of *service
activity of our church and ideas to enhance our future activity.
Coming
this fall! The Cedar Hills UCC and Pasco Washington’s
Center for Sharing plan to offer a Servant Leadership Program.
The dictionary defines "servant" as "one who serves others".
This is a great opportunity for small Christian communities to study
together and discover their specific calling as servant leaders. Contact Deb habel for more information.
Deacons
We care for the well being of all and reach out to visitors and local communites by:
Member Care: Our church family sees
themselves as caring and supportive as we go through life's journeys.
In tough times such as illness, we see many providing support of all types.
In joyous times, we celebrate with each other. New members have a mentor
to help them integrate themselves into the life of the church. Church's
can be an excellent place to exchange ideas and opinions - as we develop
programs for the church and as we discuss local, national and worldwide
issues. We work hard to provide an open and safe environment for such
discussions.
Fellowship: Many groups have been formed
and events scheduled for education and fellowship. Every Sunday after
Worship Service, there is a social, "coffee" time. Currently,
we have two dining groups, and there are very active women's and men's
groups that meets on a regular basis. More Information on Adult
Education opportunities.
Outreach: Our goal is to share information about us, our beliefs, and our activities through such initiatives such as our website, ads, signs, and participation in community programs.
